Plant Them in Containers! A Free How-To, Hands-On Workshop on the Easiest Way to Establish California Natives Any Time of the Year
Our Sunday June 8th workshop is one you definitely do.not want to miss! Learn how to get a head start with native plants way before the recommended season (usually it’s fall, anticipating our rainy season).
Establishing them now in containers allows you to keep them happy and hydrated even in the heat of summer. Come this winter, you can decide if you want to get them into the ground or just to keep them adorning your entryways and terraces indefinitely!
You will be amazed at the gorgeous plant combos you can create. You will be delighted at how easy they are to care for and how lush they can remain through all the seasons. You will be surprised at how quickly the local insects and birds will discover their mini-habitat!
All plants, soil, and containers will be on hand for purchase — or you can bring your own vessels to plant up right on the spot!
BONUS: Elaine will demonstrate how to convert any container into a subirrigated planter, called SIPs or wicking tubs — the water reservoir underneath will keep conditions steady for your container natives, raising your chance of success to near 100%!
Looking forward to another inspiring afternoon under the oaks at 3pm on Sunday, June 8th….
